Artists usually post free downloads in their myspace pages. Check out their twitters too.
Get torrents if they're not illegal where you live or if you won't get extradited from where you live.
Lots of the music i want is not on myspce or even twitter!

google Torrent files...download UTorrent and then find a good torrent site like isohunt.com and d/l your music and then put it on your phone
may be the right site to download music for ipod or any mp3 player.
Search your songs on youtube with, "download" at the end. That's how I get most of my music.
