why we loveWhy love should be selfless when we need to love ourselves too?

Do you have to be more careless for the self to start loving more selflessly?

Thank You for thoughts on this..!
I wish you all well..!!
There's a story, probably apocryphal, that says that the Inuits have somewhere from 7 to 15 words for snow. I wonder how many words there are for love. The point is that just as there are different words describing different kinds of snow, so there should be different words describing different kinds of love. I agree with Julia: I don't believe in self you have as yet been given.
Small))))))) too..!!

Immaculate purity, extraordinary forbearance, selfless service, unconditional love, where ever it is wisdom, and spiritual illumination sure to be. True love ends in selfless love.........

Even we need to love ourselves too. It turns in to divine love. The Eternal love!!!

Eternal, Eternal, Eternal !!! The Eternal love !!!

Divine Love embraces the whole universe, and, without clinging to any part, yet contains within itself the whole, and he who comes to it by gradually purifying and broadening his human loves until all the selfish and impure elements are burnt out of them, ceases from suffering.

It is because human loves are narrow and confined and mingled with selfishness that they cause suffering. No suffering can result from that Love which is so absolutely pure that it seeks nothing for itself. Nevertheless, human loves are absolutely necessary as steps towwhy we loveard the Divine, and no soul is prepared to partake of Divine Love until it has become capable of the deepest and most intense human love. It is only by passing through human loves and human sufferings that Divine Love is reached and realized.

And that Divine Image (the real inner self) is revealed and realized as stainless, selfless Love.

Hidden deep in every human heart, though frequently covered up with a mass of hard and almost impenetrable accretions, is the spirit of Divine Love, whose holy and spotless essence is undying and eternal.

Eternal, Eternal, Eternal !!! The Eternal love !!!

It is the Truth in man; it is that which belongs to the Supreme: that which is real and immortal. All else changes and passes away; this alone is permanent and imperishable; and to realize this Love by ceaseless diligence in the practice of the highest righteousness, to live in it and to become fully conscious in it, is to enter into immortality here and now, is to become one with Truth, one with God, one with the central Heart of all things, and to know our own divine and eternal nature.

Eternal, Eternal, Eternal !!! The Eternal love !!!

To reach this Love, to understand and experience it, one must work with great persistency and diligence upon his heart and mind, must ever renew his patience and keep strong his faith, for there will be much to remove, much to accomplish before the Divine Image is revealed in all its glorious beauty.

Eternalwhy we love, Eternal, Eternal !!! The Eternal love !!! Selfless love !!!
This is a VERY important question to ask. You see....

The POINT of love is that the collective pursuit of self interest is more effective than the individual pursuit.

Love is collective selfishness rather than individual selfness.

Love is to act in the self interest of others,
NOT to cease acting on one's own self interest.

Love is the extension, rather than the dissolution of self.
True love of self should make us uplift and emancipate our self, which is best achieved through selfless and indiscriminate love. (Incidentally, selfless love is a spiritual feature and therefore, the romantic or relationship love directed at a particular individual or group can never be so spiritual as to be anything resembling selfless love!!)
i don't know
We should love ourselves before adding someone else in the picture.
We should not be selfish with love, but share.
can we love our selves and still love selflessly

yes we can love our selves selflessly
i don't "buy" this self love nonsense!

people need healthy self esteem, assertiveness skills and self acceptance
We can't love ourselves. If we could, we all would. It would be so much simpler.
I don't agree with being selfless. But Love should be unconditional.
Man can not be in love without self. Just like consciousness and body.
