I am making one of those Apple photo books using iPhoto. However it says a lot of them don't have a high enough resolution. I was wondering if there is any good/ safe software out there that would enable me to make these photos bigger?

The first answer is pretty accurate, making them bigger won't help ifree photo resizing softwaremprove them. Photoshop or GIMP are two tools that can help you apply filters to improve the image.
I personally use AZImage when resizing because it allows you to choose the resize algorithm (spearately for down and up-sizing) - see
Making them bigger would not improve the resolution. They would become blurrier and free photo resizing softwarethe resolution would be worse. You can download the 30 day trial for Photoshop and that also will enable you to hopefully enhance the photos after they're enlarged. Best of luck.
