I want to be able to save videos from youtube onto my computer, but I don't want anything to mess my computer up. In other words, I want to do it safely.

or you could install Real Player and that will do it.

It works better than that.

watch the video you want to save on youtube, let it load all the way.

Copy the video URL

go to www.keepvid.com

enter the url, press enter

wait for new age to load, you'll see two links, one for .flv and one for .mpeg

right click on one of them, choose save as, name the file blahblahblah.FLV

(if you do not name the file .flv then it will save in html format and be unwatchable)

Once you have it saved you need to either CONVERT it into a watching format (flv is flash video format and will not play on most video programssave youtube videos to computer)

OR

download VLC media player which supports the .flv format.
I recommed you to try movavi flash converter,

it is the easiest (and also the fastest) way.

Zillatube easily download videos from Youtube... to your computer, and more (e.g. it will help you convert them, or just watch them easisave youtube videos to computerly anytime you want).

It works very well - just yahoo or google search for "zillatube"

You can try liteCam, I've been using it for few months to record YouTube videos and pretty happy with it. I've tried several programs, and it works the best for recording short (5-20 minutes) streaming videos.
They have 30 days trial as well.

Download hypercam 2 and record the video like that. but if u haven't registered it, like me for instance, it will just have a small sign in the corner saying Unregestered hypercam 2 , while ur playing it back or recording.
voobys is a good program to use just go to youtube and type in voobys
There is an addon to firefox and its free. I added it but didn't use it yet.
I read that it works.
