dude the iPhone 4s is the 5 generation of the iPhone it just a name everybody and i don't agree with the guy saying it minor upgrades because the iPod touch 4g changing from black to white is a minor upgrade this new iPhone 4s and a better processor, better camera, better signal, better graphic performance, and the new siri which is not fully confirmed yet that the iPhone 4 will defiantly have it in the new upgrade. Im not saying it was a dramatic upgrade but it sure as hell was't minor i just pre order mine from sprint( best plan to choose for new customer in my opinion.

Yes it technically is, Apple just didn't name it the iPhone 5 because it looks exactly the same as the iPhone 4. The iPhone 4S is a minor upgrade from the iPhone 4. Apple did the same thing with the iPhone 3G and iPhone 3GS. The 3GS was a minor upgrade from the 3G. Both the 3G and 3GS had the same design, same thing with the iPhone 4 and 4S. They just put an "S" at the end of 3G and 4 to show that they have upgraded specs.
